2025
The 2025 Loewe Foundation Craft Prize took place at Madrid’s Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, celebrating innovation and excellence in contemporary craft.
Frida Escobedo served on a panel of 12 jurors, which included designer Naoto Fukasawa, architect Minsuk Cho, and last year’s winner, Mexican ceramicist Andrés Anza, among others. Together, they reviewed 30 finalist works.
The prize was awarded to Japanese artist Kunimasa Aoki for Realm of Living Things 19 (2024), a piece recognized for its bold use of raw materials and its reinterpretation of traditional techniques.
