Frida Escobedo delivered the closing keynote of the 19th International Docomomo Conference, titled Underlying Futures, on March 20, 2026, at The Getty Center in Los Angeles, California.

Engaging with the conference’s themes of community and creativity, the lecture proposed a plural understanding of the future through the lens of modern architecture. Drawing on the work of her studio and alternative case studies, the presentation reflected on the relationship between architecture, exposure, and collective agency, while opening questions about how present conditions might project other futures.
